eSurfing Cloud’s Edge Function and Edge Cloud Security Projects are Selected for “Trusted Edge Computing Initiatives”
2023-1-18
The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology’s (CAICT) Cloud Computing & Big Data Research Institute has launched the Trusted Edge Computing Initiatives (TEI) recently with hundreds of participating members. This program aims to promote the development of edge computing, accelerate of the development of industry applications, and build trusted and open edge computing ecosystems. China Telecom Global is proud to announce that eSurfing Cloud’s edge function and edge security projects are selected for the second batch projects of TEI.
eSurfing Cloud’s “Edge Function Specification” isselected for the edge cloud-native project category. The project aims to explore the technological requirements of edge function specifications with a focus on edge function’s technical indicators, performance indicators, safety, measurability, third party toolchains, backend BaaS ability and more.
BosonFaaS Edge Function is a serverless computing platform developed by eSurfing Cloud. With BosonFaaS edge function, users can one click deploy the codes that immediately activate eSurfing Cloud’s edge node. This enables customers to respond to end users or equipment requests without any concern for the cloud-deployed regions, or infrastructure setup and maintenance. BosonFaaS provides language-level sandboxing to protect code privacy and assists users on credible edge computing. It also offers multi-functional developer tools and abundant programming languages to help users expedite service launch and verification. The Serverless O&M-free mode makes it effortless for users to handle peak traffic with its leading cold boot technology. Combining BosonFaaS with eSurfing Cloud’s professional and stable CDN services, users can achieve programmable CDN with the edge clouds. For example, they can make static web pages dynamic, rewrite edge contents, deploy edge ESI, and run edge anti-leeching authentication and AB split testing. This results in a highly customised user experience and decreased back-to-source traffic. By integrating edge storage, the users can also run short-term cache, render customised content, and supply server-level rendering speed and low-latency responses on the edge.
eSurfing Cloud’s “edge DDoS protection, edge WAF technology, edge safety connection technical specification” projects are nominated for edge security TEI. These offerings focus on exploring and building security measures and standard connection specifications for edge cloud computing, such as Anti-DDoS (edge cloud version), web application firewall (edge cloud version), edge safety connection (SCDN).
To cope with multi-cloud safety issues that enterprises face during digital transformations, eSurfing Cloud integrates web crawler protection and develops a powerful web security of edge WAF platform by utilising CDN’s resource barrier and edge security foundation to prevent malicious traffic. Leveraging API security gateway, it can detect API malfunctions and provide DDoS protection at the application level to guard hyperscale and simultaneous attacks. Combining edge security import platform to provide 3-layer, 4-layer, or 7-layer secure connections, it can verify and authenticate all requests, offering edge security to protect corporate Web service and API business from attacks.
With commitments to push the boundaries of edge computing, eSurfing Cloud has launched a series of products including ECX, iStack, iBox, RCR, ECK, edge Serverless container and edgy security products. These products has received a variety of cloud certificates and are recognised through a diverse selection of industry awards. We will continue contributing to edge computing technology and industry development. We look forward to further accelerating industrial digitalisation by improving functionalities, innovating edge computing products, and enriching edge ecosystem.
