Storage Resource Reutilization System

The Storage Resource Reutilization System (HBlock) is a lightweight storage cluster controller that implements fully user-mode software-defined storage and converts idle storage resources into high-availability virtual disks. Through the standard Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) protocol, HBlock provides distributed block storage services that can be mounted to local servers.

Product Advantages

Extremely Lightweight for Full Reutilization

The installation package is about 170 MB and can be deployed with one click, and it takes only three minutes to initialize a cluster; features fully user-mode design and supports hybrid deployment for business coexistence and resource sharing; supports heterogeneous deployment of general servers of different architectures, brands, and configurations.

Innovative and Self-developed, Secure and Stable

HBlock is immune to single-point faults and supports second-level active-standby switchover, with strong data consistency to ensure high availability; multiple copies, erasure code (EC), and data verification ensure high reliability; ensures the security and stability of storage services in a Chaos environment.

On-demand Usage for Accurate Investment

Supports the elastic expansion of performance and capacity on demand, without large upfront investment; supports permanent license or on-demand subscription, and billing based on the available capacity for accurate and appropriate investment.

Reduced Costs and Increased Efficiency for Maximized Value

Reutilizes idle storage resources to improve resource utilization rate and better support your business; supports hybrid deployment of applications to reduce the demand for additional hardware; rich management forms and easy O&M to improve efficiency.

Features
Hybrid Deployment HBlock can be deployed with other applications. HBlock forms high-availability disks to improve application availability and provide the same read-write performance as local disks. In addition, HBlock can reutilize the storage resources of computing nodes, reducing the need to purchase additional storage hardware.
Elastic Scalability HBlock supports scale-up (expanding by adding a single server's processor, memory, network, and disk) and scale-out (expanding by adding servers). You can add servers and disks on demand at any time, without interrupting the business continuity.
Data Protection HBlock supports multi-copy and Erasure Code (EC) data redundancy protection mechanisms, and data pieces are stored on different servers and can be rebuilt. HBlock supports multiple data verification mechanisms to ensure data security and reliability.
Central Management HBlock management functions can be accessed through the RESTful API, CLI, or WEB console; supports volume-level redundancy and writing policy configuration to meet the needs of different business scenarios; provides a central monitoring and alarm view to facilitate operation and maintenance.
Remote Assistance HBlock can be quickly connected to your environment for resolving issues, fault diagnosis or troubleshooting, which overcomes physical distance restrictions, saves time and costs and improves efficiency.
Monitoring Alarm HBlock monitors all resources in the system and provides a one-page overview and details. When the components or resources in the system are abnormal, it will also send notifications automatically.

Scenarios

< >
  • A Small Distributed System with High-availability Storage
  • Reutilization of Existing Resources
  • Autonomous and Controllable
Scene Description
  • For applications, databases, file storage, and other businesses that require the deployment of a large number of computing and storage nodes, you can use HBlock to manage the physical disks of application nodes, and mount the virtual disks to the local application nodes for local applications. No need to purchase and maintain additional storage hardware.
Product Advantages
  • Revitalizes storage resources of application nodes and converts them into high-availability virtual disks to improve application availability.
  • Applications coexist with storage, eliminating the need to purchase additional storage hardware and reducing TCO.
  • Hassle-free O&M and management eliminate the complexities of network connections.
