Billing Items
eSurfing Cloud LVDN billing consists of basic services (required) and value-added services (optional).
Basic service billing: You can choose the pay-by-traffic or pay-by-bandwidth billing method.
Value-added service billing: You can purchase value-added services based on business requirements. Currently, live transcoding, live recording, snapshot capturing and live audit are supported.
Billing Mode
eSurfing Cloud LVDN supports two billing modes: pay-as-you-go and resource package.
Pay-as-you-go (required): You need to select a billing method according to your business requirements, and settle the bills based on your actual usage and a post-payment mode. This billing mode is suitable for scenarios in which resource usage fluctuates greatly and cannot be precisely estimated. In pay-as-you-go mode, the pay-by-traffic and pay-by-bandwidth billing methods are supported.
Resource package (prepaid): You need to purchase resource packages that meet your business requirements. During settlement, the billing system uses the resource packages to offset the resource usage fees. This billing mode is suitable for scenarios in which resource usage fluctuates slightly and the total resource usage can be estimated.
Billing Items | Billing Mode | Billing Method | Billed By | Description | Availability |
Basic Service Billing | Pay-As-You-Go (Required) | Pay-by-traffic | Traffic | Charged based on actual traffic. | Official website. |
Pay-by-bandwidth | Daily peak bandwidth | You are billed based on the daily peak bandwidth. A peak bandwidth value is collected every 5 minutes, so a total of 288 values are collected every day. The largest value among them is used as the daily peak bandwidth for billing. | Official website.
Average daily peak bandwidth for the current month | Your bandwidth usage is billed in each calendar month. On each calendar day, a peak bandwidth value is collected every 5 minutes, and all valid peak bandwidth values are sorted in descending order. The largest value among them is used as the daily peak bandwidth for billing. At the end of the month, all daily peak bandwidth values for valid days are summed and averaged to generate the average daily peak bandwidth for the current month. | Please contact our customer support team via hotline (852)31000000 or email global.noc@chinatelecomglobal.com

Monthly peak bandwidth | In a calendar month, a bandwidth value is collected every 5 minutes, and all valid bandwidth values are sorted in descending order. The largest value among them is used as the monthly peak bandwidth billable for the current month. For example, in a calendar month (30 days), the default values are all valid value points, with 1 bandwidth value point every 5 minutes and 288 value points per day. The total number of value points per month is 288 x 30=8,640, and the maximum value is taken as the peak billing point for the current month's bandwidth.
Monthly 95th percentile bandwidth | In a calendar month, a bandwidth value is collected every 5 minutes, and all valid bandwidth values are sorted in descending order. Then, the top 5% of these values are excluded. The largest value among the remaining values is used as the monthly 95th percentile bandwidth for billing. All peak bandwidth values are sorted in descending order. The system removes the top 5% of 8,640 peak bandwidth values (432 peak bandwidth values) and uses the 433rd peak bandwidth value as the monthly 95th percentile bandwidth for billing.
Resource Package Billing (Prepaid) | Traffic package | Traffic | You can purchase only LVDN packages with a one-off payment, and the billing cycle of all traffic packages is one year. | You can purchase the product on the official website. Traffic packages are more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing mode. |
Billing
Before you purchase a traffic package, make sure that you have purchased a CDN service that is billed by traffic. The traffic package takes precedence over the pay-by-traffic billing method and is first applied to offset usage fees. The overages are automatically billed based on the pay-by-traffic billing method and are included in the postpaid bill. If you want to use only traffic packages for billing, we recommend that you purchase traffic packages at the earliest opportunity based on the required services and business volume.
If you have purchased a pay-as-you-go CDN service before purchasing a traffic package, make sure that the billing method of the service is pay-by-traffic. If the billing method of the service is pay-by-bandwidth, the traffic package will be frozen after purchase. If your domain name is accelerated, you are actually billed based on the pay-by-peak-bandwidth billing method. The traffic package is not applied until the billing method of the service is switched back to pay-by-traffic.
If you want to purchase a traffic package with a large data transfer quota, please contact our customer support team via hotline (852)31000000 or email global.noc@chinatelecomglobal.com to apply for coupons. Coupons can only be used to purchase traffic packages. Only one coupon can be used per purchase order.
By default, only downlink playback fees are charged for LVDN. However, when the ratio of the uplink stream pushing fee to the downlink stream playback fee is greater than 1:50, then the former will be charged at the same time, and the unit price is the same as the later.
