Operation Scenarios

If you no longer want to use an image but do not want to delete it for some reason, you can deprecate the image. For example, images that are no longer maintained or replaced by newer versions can be deprecated.

Prerequisites

lOnly private images can be deprecated.

lThe image must be in Normal status to be deprecated.

lOnly images with Deactivated status can be reactivated.

lImages being deprecated or deactivated cannot be shared.

lShared images cannot be deprecated.

lImages being deprecated or deactivated do not support the operation, such as Applying for an ECS, Exporting, or Modifying.

Procedure

1. Log in to the eSurfing Cloud Console.

2. Click at the top of the Console to select a region.

3. In the left navigation pane, choose Compute > IMS.

4. On the Images List page, select the image to be deprecated and click Deprecate.

5. After deprecating, the image status changes from Deprecating to Deactivated, and the status change means that the deprecating operation is complete.

Next Steps

1. Once deprecated, the Apply for ECS button in the Image list is grayed. When selecting the image on the Purchase ECS page, the image dropdown box no longer displays this image.

2. The deactivated images can be reactivated and used normally again.
