Elastic Volume Service

Elastic Volume Service (EVS) is an elastic and scalable block storage device that can provide high-performance and highly reliable block storage services for ECS and elastic bare metal servers. EVS has a wide range of specifications to meet the business needs of different scenarios, and is suitable for file system, database, development and testing scenarios. Users may operate and manage EVS, and can format and create file systems on EVS attached to ECS just like using traditional server disk.

Product Superiority

Secure, reliable and persistently available data

EVS uses distributed storage with multiple copies being saved in the background for each data, and multi-copy data is synchronized in real time so that user data won’t be lost due to storage power down and failure, thus to ensure data security and reliability. The persistence of data storage can reach up to 99.9999999%. EVS provides encryption function to ensure the security of system disk and data disk. EVS supports data protection functions such as backup and snapshot to guarantee data reliability in all aspects and prevent data errors caused by application abnormalities and hacker attacks.

Rich specifications to meet a variety of storage performance needs

A variety of storage types such as GPIO, high IO, generic SSD, and ultra-high IO to meet different I/O performance requirements in various scenarios. The random IOPS of ultra-high IO EVS can reach up to 33,000, and the throughput can reach up to 350MBps with a latency of only 1ms, which meets the requirements of high-performance and low-latency scenarios.

Elastic scaling to cater for high-capacity storage needs

Large-capacity EVS is provided, and a single EVS can support up to 32TB. A variety of scaling methods are provided. Users can expand storage space either by attaching multiple EVS onto ECS or by increasing the capacity of a single EVS. A single disk can be expanded from 10GB to 32TB smoothly on demand.

Easy to use and get started quickly

Users can easily manage and use EVS by simply creating, attaching, detaching, deleting, etc.

Real-time monitoring to keep track of the status of EVS

With the cloud monitoring function, users can keep track of the health status of EVS and understand the operation status of EVS.
