When an ECS is created, a system disk is automatically added. You do not need to purchase the system disk independently. Data disks can be purchased during or after ECS creation. If you purchase data disks during ECS creation, the system automatically mounts the data disks to the ECS. If you purchase EVSs after ECS creation, you need to manually mount the purchased EVSs to the ECS.

Operation Steps:

1.Log in to the Console.

2.Choose Storage > EVS to go to the EVS page.

3.Click Create EVS. The EVS creation page is displayed.

4.Configure the basic information of the EVS according to prompts.

Descriptions of configuration items

Parameters	Description
Disk name	You can customize the name of the disk to be created.
Capacity	It is the capacity of an EVS. Currently, data disks have a capacity of 10GB to 32,768GB. When you use a backup copy to create an EVS, the disk capacity must be greater than or equal to the backup size.
Disk Type	GPIO, High I/O, General SSD, and Ultra-high I/O
Shared disk	If you checkShared EVS, a shared EVS is created. A shared EVS can be mounted to up to 16 ECSs. If you do not check Shared EVS, a non-shared EVS is created, and it can be mounted to one ECS only.
Disk mode	VBD (default): VBD EVSs support only simple SCSI read and write commands. SCSI: Supports SCSI command pass-through and allows the ECS operating system to directly access the storage media. In addition to simple SCSI read and write commands, SCSI EVSs also support more advanced SCSI commands. FCSAN: FCSAN EVS is only applicable for DPS.
Payment type	EVSs support two billing modes, namely, annual or monthly package and pay-per-use.
Quantity	It is the number of EVSs created. The default value is1, indicating that only one EVS is created. You can bulk create a maximum of 50 EVSs.
Creating duration	If you set the billing mode toAnnual/Monthly Package, you need to select a required duration ranging from 1 month to 5 years.

5.After confirming the configuration information of the EVS, click Next.

6.On the Resource Details page, you can check the EVS information again. After confirming the information, read and select the service agreement, and clickConfirm Order to create the EVS. To modify the parameters, click Previous Page.

7.On the EVS page, view the EVS status. When its status changes to Mounted or Not Mounted the EVS is successfully created.
