This section introduces the application scenarios, billing description, expired resource processing rules, as well as advantages and disadvantages of yearly/monthly subscription to help you quickly understand this billing mode.
Yearly/monthly subscription is a prepaid billing mode that requires you to pay before you use resources. Typically, you purchase subscription resources by month or by year. After you pay for the resource fees, the system assigns the cloud resources to you, and you can use them before the resource retention period ends. After the retention period ends, the system reclaims the resources.
Application Scenarios
The business is relatively steady.
You need to use resources in the long term and want to reduce costs.
Description
Typically, you purchase subscription resources by month or by year. You can pay for the resource fees of one month, several months, one year, or several years as needed. After the payment, the system assigns the cloud resources to you, and you can use them before the resource retention period ends. After the retention period ends, the system reclaims the resources.
Renewal Before Expiration
You can renew the resources before they are expired to extend the validity period. This helps avoid that the system freezes the resources after they are expired or reclaims the resources after the retention period ends.
Processing Expired Resources
After the resources are expired, the corresponding resources are only retained for a certain period. During the retention period, the data stored in your cloud services is retained, but you can no longer access or use the cloud services (because the resources are frozen).
If you renew the resources during the retention period, the billing cycle starts when the resources are renewed and unfrozen. The system calculates the new validity period and then calculates the resource fees based on the new validity period.
If the resources are not renewed before the retention period ends, the data stored in the cloud services is deleted and the resources are released.
For online customers:
Product Type | Retention Period | After the Retention Period |
Compute, storage, network, and database products | 15 days | The stored data is deleted and the cloud service resources are released. |
Cloud Laptop | 7 days | The stored data is deleted and the cloud service resources are released. |
For offline customers:
Product Type | Retention Period | After the Retention Period |
Compute, storage, network, and database products | 45 days | The stored data is deleted and the cloud service resources are released. |
Cloud Laptop | 45 days | The stored data is deleted and the cloud service resources are released. |
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages
The unit price is lower than that of the pay-as-you-go billing mode.
You can use the resources in the long term. This helps avoid that no resources are available when needed.
Disadvantages
Depending on the product, resource configuration changes and resource unsubscription may be subject to certain limits.
