Key Management Service

Renewal

2024-12-18 08:57:34

If you have purchased KMS, you need to manually renew the instance before the service expires, or set an automatic renewal policy upon expiration so that your business will not be affected due to the unavailability of keys and other resources.

Note:

If you have used EVS, ZOS, elastic files, relational database   MySQL, enabled KMS server-side encryption, and used a self-built CMK, please   pay special attention to the expiration time of KMS and renew it in a timely   manner. If KMS expires and is not renewed in a timely manner and therefore is   frozen, the key used for cloud product encryption will become unavailable,   and requests for encryption, decryption, and other operations will be   rejected, resulting in errors for cloud products.

 Expiration

Ÿ   Before KMS expires, the system will remind you via SMS or email that the service is about to expire and needs to be renewed.

Ÿ   If KMS expires and is not renewed on time, the platform will freeze the service, but will keep your resources and configuration information within a 15-day retention period.

Note:

During the retention   period, the platform freezes KMS, and resources such as keys created after   you purchase the subscription-based edition will become unavailable. As a   result, you cannot encrypt or decrypt data. At the expiration of the   retention period, if you have not renewed KMS yet, the platform will clear   your service resources, and delete all the keys and configurations, which   cannot be restored. If you still need to use resources such as keys in the   KMS, please renew your subscription in advance.

Renewal

Ÿ   You can manually renew the service on the KMS console or the eSurfing Cloud renewal management page before the service expires. For details, see Renewal Rules Description.

Ÿ   When purchasing KMS, you can check and agree to "Automatic Renewal". Before the service expires, the system will automatically generate renewal orders and continue to provide the service according to the default renewal period. For details, see Auto-Renewal.

Note:

If you select "Auto Renewal" when purchasing KMS, the   system will set the renewal period by default:

For monthly subscription, the default automatic renewal period is   three months.

For annual subscription, the default automatic renewal period is   one year.

To modify the automatic renewal period, go to Cost Center   > Order Management > Renewal Management page of eSurfing   Cloud, locate the resource to be modified for automatic renewal on the   resource page, click Modify Automatic Renewal in the operation column,   and drag Renewal Period to modify the automatic renewal period. When   the automatic renewal period reaches one year, you can enjoy a yearly   discount.
