Operation scenarios:

In a certain business scenario, a large number of object data are continuously written into the bucket, and these data have a fixed life cycle and can be deleted after a period of time.

When multi-version control is enabled for the bucket, overwriting and deleting operations will be saved in the form of data version history, and thus a large amount of historical version data will be accumulated in the bucket.

In the above scenario, the storage system can automatically delete expired data and unwanted historical version data by configuring a life cycle policy.

Prerequisites:

1、Business data has a clearly defined life cycle, for example, video surveillance data

2、Multi-version control is enabled for the bucket, and it is clear that redundant historical version data can be deleted.

Operation steps:

Step 1: On the ZOS Console, click the bucket to go to the Overview page.

Step 2: Select the Basic Settings page, select Life Cycle and click Settings .

Step 3: Click Create Rule .

Step 4: Configure life cycle management rules.

1）You can apply a rule globally to objects in a bucket or objects with a specific prefix.

2）You can select objects with specific tags.

3）You can set the expiration days or date of files.

Step 5: Upon completion of configuration, the storage system will automatically scan the data in the bucket, and if the expiration condition is met, relevant object data will be automatically deleted in the background.
