Instance Specifications

2025-06-26 07:53:20

SQL Server instance specifications involve the performance types, CPU, and memory specifications for different performance requirements. You can choose as needed. After a DB instance is created, its CPU and memory specifications can still be changed based on your business needs.

²  Note:

After a DB instance is created, only the CPU and memory specifications can be changed, not for the performance type. Therefore, please confirm your needs before instance creation.

Category

The following table mainly describes cloud server specifications, including General-purpose, Memory-optimized, and Computing-plus servers. The CPU architecture applied is x86 for all specifications.

Specifications

Description

Application    Scenario

General-purpose

CPU   resources are shared with other general-purpose instances on the same   physical machine. The vCPU performance, balance computing, memory, and network   resources are of general level. This specification features high   cost-effectiveness and supports general business.

Suitable   for scenarios where vCPU resources are not of intensive use, such as small   sites, light-weighted development and test environments, and small databases.

Computing-plus

CPU   resources are dedicated to each instance on the physical machine without   resource over-allocation. The brand new network acceleration engine is also   used to achieve highly-stable performance close to physical machines. Higher   CPU and memory specifications are supported.

Suitable   for computing-intensive scenarios such as large sites and e-commerce   marketing.

Memory-optimized

CPU   resources are dedicated to each instance on the physical machine without   resource over-allocation. The brand new network acceleration engine is also   used to achieve highly-stable performance close to physical machines. The   CPU:memory ratio can reach 1:8.

Suitable   for high-memory computing applications, such as big data analytics and core   databases.
