The database system is generally an important part of an application system and has high requirements on storage I/O performance. eSurfing Cloud provides multiple storage I/O types for you to choose based on your performance needs. The storage type cannot be changed once an SQL Server instance is created.
Storage Types
SQL Server supports high I/O and ultra-high I/O storage types, both of which are disk-based. Elastic scalability is supported for different business scenarios. The following table describes the details.
Storage Type | Application Scenario |
High I/O | Suitable for mainstream application scenarios with high performance and availability requirements, such as large development and test, web server logs, and enterprise applications. Typical examples include SAP, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SharePoint. |
Ultra high I/O | Suitable for read/write intensive scenarios with ultra-high requirements on IOPS and bandwidth, such as high-performance computing and NoSQL/relational databases. |
