Prerequisites
• You have activated DMS for the master account to which the eSurfing Cloud sub-account belongs or have invited the sub-account to join other organizations.
• You have obtained the account and password required for logging into the instance.
Viewing/Using the Instance
On the left menu, you can click Data Source Management > Instance Metadata to view all the instances within your viewing/using permissions.
You can obtain the viewing/using instance permissions using the following methods:
• Join the Team: After successfully joining a team, you can view or use all instances within the team. You can contact the organization's administrator or the team administrator to add you to a team. Alternatively, you can take the initiative to apply to join a team by following the steps below: On the left menu bar, click Personal Center > My Team and click the View All Teams button on the Team Member tab. On the All Teams pop-up window, select a team and click the Apply To Join button. Then, select the team role you want to apply for and join the team by submitting a team order.
² Description
A team is a collective concept for a group of users, database resources, and operations performed by users on database resources in DMS.
After obtaining the instance viewing/using permissions, you can view the instance metadata. The specific steps are described below taking a MySQL database as an example:
1. On the left menu bar, click Data Source Management > Instance Metadata.
2. After entering the Instance List page, find the target instance and click Database List in the Operate column. On the opened Instance Login pop-up window, enter the correct database account and database password to view the database list of the target instance.
3. On the Database List page, find the target database and click Object List in the Operate column to view the table, view, stored procedure, function, event, trigger, and other information of the target database.
Querying Data
After obtaining the instance viewing/using permissions, you can query the instance data in the Query Window using the following methods:
• On the Console Home page, click the Query button in the Recently Accessed Databases/Schemata and Recently Opened Scripts below.
• On the left menu bar, click Instance List. Then, click the instance name to unfold the database list and double-click the database name to use the query function.
• On the left menu bar, click Development Space > Query Window to go to the Query Window homepage.
• On the left menu bar, click Data Source Management > Instance Metadata and click Query in the Instance List.
• On the left menu bar, click Personal Center > My Team, switch to the Team Instance tab, and click Query in the Instance List.
