How do I enable DMS?
This section includes usage models of the DMS product and details how to enable it.
Issue Description
When using eSurfing Cloud DMS, you can directly go to the product homepage if you enable DMS on the product details page. However, there may be some errors when you go to the Control Center and select the resource pool to enable it. So, you may wonder that: How do I enable DMS?
Reason Analysis
The new generation of DMS upgrades adopts a one-stop service architecture that includes and manages all resource pools of eSurfing Cloud and database instances of other environments in a globally centralized mode. This service is in a limited-time free trial period, and you can try it out without needing to activate it. As such, we designed two different buttons to go to the DMS Console: click Console. As the name suggests, you can directly go to the DMS Console by clicking the Console button. With the design concept of a one-stop service architecture, it is redundant to jump directly to the main service of DMS through the resource pool. Therefore, we recommend that you access and use the DMS Console directly from the product details page.
Solution
On the eSurfing Cloud website page, you can access Products > Database > Database Management Tools > DMS and go to the DMS Details page.
During the limited-time free period, you can go to the DMS Details page, click the Console button to directly access the DMS Console. You can perform corresponding operations on the DMS Console.
4.1.2 What should I do if the instance connection fails?
Issue Description
Instance connection failure is a common issue when you log in to an instance or add an instance.
Login failed: When you log in to the instance in the Query Window or other places where the instance login function is available, a prompt appears stating “Unable to connect to the database. Please check whether the filled information is correct”.
Adding failed: When you add an instance and enter all the instance information, a connection failure prompt appears after you click Test Connection.
Reason Analysis
The instance connection failure may be caused by various factors such as user input, network, account password, and more, and their corresponding solutions are also different.
Solution
• Instance information input error: This issue is caused by an incorrect instance connection address, such as an IP or port error. Please check the IP and port and fill in the correct address.
• Account or password input error: Fill in the correct database account and database password with login permissions.
• Failure to configure the instance trustlist: Cloud instances often use the trustlist access. Only IPs within the trustlist are allowed to access the instance. As such, you need to add a trustlist for DMS to the security group where the instance is located. The trustlist address for DMS is as follows: 117.89.250.178
