This section provides answers to the frequently asked questions about allowed operations on Server Security Defender resources.

How can I deploy the Server Security Defender agent after I activate the service?

After you activate Server Security Defender, go to Control Center > Server Security Defender and click Console to enter the console. In the Server Security Defender console, choose General Functions > System Settings > Agent Installation and install the agent as prompted.

Does Server Security Defender support two-factor authentication?

No, Server Security Defender does not provide an account management system.

How can I receive monitoring reports?

By default, Server Security Defender sends reports to the email address that you specified the first time you log in to the Server Security Defender console.You can also go to Message Center > Message Notification Configuration to configure whether to receive reports and add recipients.

How can I receive real-time alarms?

Server Security Defender can send alarms through emails, text messages, and internal messages in real time. The first time you log in to the Server Security Defender console, you need to specify the email address and cell phone number of the contact for receiving notifications. You can also go to Message Center > Message Notification Configuration to configure the message types that you want to receive, notification method, and recipients.

What should I do after I failed to install the agent on my Window client?

Error 1: "http error code 28" is returned during installation

Solution:

1. Check whether the client is connected to the server. Test method: In the address bar of your browser, enter the URL of the agent installation package to check whether the content can be loaded.

2. Check your firewall configuration to determine whether your firewall blocks the corresponding traffic.

3. Check whether WAF is used on your client to block the corresponding traffic.

Error 2: An NSIS error occurs when installing the agent for Windows

Solution:

If you use an English version of Windows and the directory where the agent installation package is stored contains files in Chinese, this error is reported when you open the agent installation package.Move the installation package to an all-English directory and try again.

 

Error 3: "Can't modify service config 3" appears when checking sys.log

Solution:

This error occurs due to a registry write issue on your operating system. Check whether registry write is disabled or sys.log is blocked by anti-virus reasons.

Error 4: The "Launching installer" error is report during installation

Solution:

Place the installer in an all-English directory and try again.

Error 5: "Extract: error writing to file" is reported during installation

Solution: Check whether Drive C is full. If so, clean the drive.

Error 6: "Failed to download file" is reported when installing the agent for Windows

The following figure shows an example:

The server is accessible on all ports through Telnet commands, but access to http://32.12.65.139:8002/plugins/v3.58.46-win64/TitanAgent_for_All.exe failed.

After a Telnet connection is successfully established, 400 is returned after you press Ctrl+C.

Reason:

On your Windows server, a network proxy is set. To view the network proxy, open your IE browser and choose Settings > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings, as shown in the following figure:

Solution:

Open the IE browser and choose Settings > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced. In the Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with field, enter the server IP addresses in the http://server ip;server ip format.

After completing the configuration, reopen CMD and execute the installation command.

Error 7: "File or directory is corrupted and unreadable" is reported when installing the agent for Windows

Solution:

It is confirmed that the account in use does not have write access to directories in Drive C. To solve the issue, obtain the admin permissions.

Failed to Install the Agent on a Linux Client

Check whether the operating system of the target server is supported by Server Security Defender.

Error 1: "[ERROR] curl:error while loading shared libraries" is reported when installing the agent for Linux

Solution: Log in to the front-end agent installation page and check whether the installation dependencies are complete.

Error 2: "bash:line 1:errorCode:400:command not found" is reported

Solution: Generally, this error occurs because the parameter k in the agent installation command is incorrect. To fix the error, re-generate the installation command on the front-end agent installation page and try to install the agent again.

Error 3: "[ERROR] check crond fail" is reported when installing the agent for Linux

Solution: The reason is that data cannot be written to crond or crond does not exist. To fix the error, install crond first.

Error 4: "[ERROR] conf crond fail" is reported when installing the agent for Linux

Solution:

(1) Check the user permissions. Check whether you install the agent as the root user. It cannot be installed by a non-root user.

(2) Check whether the login password expires.

How to Uninstall the Agent in Linux

The method described in this section is applicable, regardless of whether the agent is online or offline.

To uninstall the agent, log in to the host where the agent is installed using the account and password, and execute the following commands in order as the root user:

/titan/agent/titanagent -s

bash /titan/agent/install_agent.sh disclean

In Windows, open the Control Panel, select Uninstall a program, find TitanAgent 3.49.18, right-click it, and select Uninstall/Change(U), and then uninstall the agent as prompted.
