Overview

A host group is a set of cloud servers for which you want to collect logs. It is a virtual group. Cloud Log Service manages all cloud servers that require log collection through the collector as host groups. It is recommended that you divide host groups based on different business scenarios to facilitate your management of Cloud Log Service.

Procedure

Creating a Host Group

• Log in to the Cloud Log Service console.

In the left navigation bar, click Host Group Management.

• Click New Host Group in the upper left corner of the page.

In the pop-up window, enter the host group name and select the target cloud server in the cloud server list.

• Click OK to complete the creation.

Viewing Host Group Details

• In the left navigation bar of the Cloud Log Service console, click Host Group Management.

• Click the target host group name to enter the Host Group Details page.

• You can view the basic information about the host group, including the host group name, host group type, number of cloud servers, and creation time.

View cloud server configuration details.

• View the collection rules associated with the host group. Click on the name of the target collection rule to view the collection rule details.

Field	Description
Host Name	Names of all cloud servers in the current host group.
IP	IP addresses of all cloud servers in the current host group.
Host Status	● Running: indicates that the host is running normally. ● Abnormal: indicates that the host has been frozen or destroyed, and the log data of the host cannot be collected.
Collector Status	● Connected: indicates that the collector has been installed on the host, and the collector can report heartbeat data normally. ● Not connected: indicates that the collector is not installed on the host or there are network issues, and the heartbeat data cannot be reported.

Editing Host Groups

• In the left navigation bar of the Cloud Log Service console, click Host Group Management.

• Click the target host group name to enter the Host Group Details page.

• Add Cloud Server

In the Cloud Server Configuration module, click Add Cloud Server .

• In the pop-up window, select the target cloud server.

• Click OK to add the target cloud server to the host group.

• Removing a Cloud Server

• In the Cloud Server Configuration module, select the target cloud server and click the Remove button.

• In the pop-up prompt box, click OK to remove the cloud server.

Note:

After the host is removed from the host group, the collection rules associated with the host group will no longer apply to logs on this server.

• Click Batch Remove and check the target cloud servers to remove cloud servers in batches.
