Application Scenarios

When the file system is created, you need to mount the file system using a cloud server to share the file system among multiple cloud servers.

Making Preparations

You have created a VPC in the region where the operation is required. For details, see Creating a VPC.
You have created an ECS under the VPC. The operating system is Linux. This section uses CentOS7.6 as an example for description. For specific operation steps, see ECS - Creating an ECS.
You have created a file system under the VPC. The protocol type of the file system is NFS. For specific operation steps, see Creating a File System.

Procedure

Log in to the eSurfing Cloud Console, click in the upper left corner of the console, and select a region.
Go to Compute > Elastic Cloud Server and find the cloud server to perform the mount operation.
Log in to the ECS as a root user. For details about the login method, see Logging into a Linux ECS - ECS - Quick Start.
Run the following command to query whether the cloud server has installed the NFS client. If not, return the installation results. Follow Step 5 to install an NFS client.

rpm -qa | grep nfs-utils

Install the NFS client. Note that the commands to be run during installation vary between different operating systems.

For the CentOS system, run the following command:

yum -y install nfs-utils

For the Ubuntu system, run the following command:

sudo apt-get install nfs-common

Run the following command and create a local mount path, such as /mnt/sfs.

mkdir /mnt/sfs

Mount the file system by running the following command.

mount -t nfs -o vers=3, proto=tcp,async,nolock,noatime,nodiratime,wsize=1048576,rsize=1048576,timeo=600 Mount address: Local path

Note:

The file system can only be mounted by root users.

Parameter description for mount commands

Parameter	Description
vers	File system version.Either 3 or 4 can be selected.Recommended value: 3.
proto	Protocol used by NFS clients to send requests to the server. Both UDP and TCP can be used, and TCP is recommended.
async	sync means synchronous write, indicating that the data to be written to the file is immediately written to the server; async means asynchronous write, indicating that the data is first written to the cache before being written to the server. Synchronous write requires that an NFS server returns a success message only after all data is written to the server, resulting in long latency. The recommended value is async.
nolock	Select whether to lock files on the server using the NLM protocol. Ifnolockis selected, the NLM protocol is not used for locking files. The locking request is only performed and valid for the current host, and other clients are not affected. Except for the instances where multiple clients modify the same file simultaneously, it is recommended to selectnolockfor better performance. If this parameter is not added, the default value is lock .
noatime	If you do not need to record the file access time, set this parameter. This prevents overheads caused by modifying access time during frequent access.
nodiratime	If you do not need to record the directory access time, set this parameter. This prevents overheads caused by modifying access time during frequent access.
wsize	Maximum number of bytes that can be written to the server each time. The actual data is less than or equal to this value. The value of wsize must be a positive integer that is a multiple of 1024. If the entered value is smaller than 1024, the value is automatically set to 4096. If the entered value is greater than 1048576, the value is automatically set to 1048576. By default, the setting is performed after the negotiation between the server and the client. Recommended value: The maximum value is 1048576.
rsize	Maximum number of bytes that can be read from the server each time. The actual data is less than or equal to this value. The value of rsize must be a positive integer that is a multiple of 1024. If the entered value is smaller than 1024, the value is automatically set to 4096. If the entered value is greater than 1048576, the value is automatically set to 1048576. By default, the setting is performed after the negotiation between the server and the client. Recommended value: The maximum value is 1048576.
timeo	Waiting time before the NFS client retransmits a request. The unit is 0.1 second. Recommended value: 600.
Mount Address	The mount address is obtained on the file system details page. On this page, selectthe Linux Cloud Server Access (IPv4) addressand clickCopy .
Local path	Local path for mounting the file system on the cloud server, such as/mnt/sfscreated in the previous step.

Use df -h to check the mount details when the mount is complete.

Related Operation
