Unmounting a File System Directory

Operation Description

You can unmount a file system when you no longer need to use it.

Making Preparations

Ÿ   You have mounted a file system to the ECS. For details, see Mounting a File System.

Ÿ   Before unmounting the file system, it is recommended to first terminate the process and stop reading and writing.

Unmounting Steps for Linux Systems

1.       Log in to the eSurfing Cloud Console, click  in the upper left corner of the console, and select a region.

2.       Select Compute > Elastic Cloud Server, enter the ECS page and find the cloud server to perform the mount operation.

3.       Log in to the ECS as a root user. Run the following command to unmount the file system.

umount local path

Local path: Local path on the cloud server, used to mount the file system, such as /mnt/sfs.

Unmounting Steps for Window Systems

1.       Log in to the eSurfing Cloud Console, click  in the upper left corner of the console, and select a region.

2.       Select Compute > Elastic Cloud Server, go to the ECS page and find the row where the cloud server is located for performing the mount operation.

3.       Click Remote Login and use the VNC method provided by the console to remotely log in to the Windows ECS.

4.       Click the Windows button in the lower-left corner of the desktop and click This PC. At the network location, right-click the file system you want to unmount and select Disconnect network drive...

5.       If the mounted file system no longer exists at the network location, the unmount is successful.
