Relational Database Service (MySQL)

Step III: Binding the EIP

2024-06-19 03:35:30

This section describes how to bind the RDS for MySQL instance to the public network IP.

Application Scenarios

By default, the public network access function is not enabled (that is, the EIP is not bound) after an RDS for MySQL instance is created. RDS for MySQL allows you to bind EIP and access database instances on the public network. After that, you can unbind the instance as needed. Considering the support of underlying architecture, only some resource pools support the EIP function.

² Note

To access a database instance, you need to set the security group and enable the IP address and port to access the database. Before accessing the database, you need to add the inbound access rules of the security group to the IP address or the IP segment that accesses the database. For faster transmission rate and higher security level, it is recommended that you migrate your application to an ECS in the same region as your RDS for MySQL.

Procedure

On the Instance Management page, select the target instance, click the instance name, and go to the Basic Info page of the instance.

On the left navigation bar, click EIP and click Bind EIP.

In the EIP Address List in the pop-up box, select the target EIP, click Bind, and submit the binding task. If no EIP is available, you can click View EIP to obtain the EIP.

On the EIP page, you can view the bound EIP. You can also view the execution progress and results of the binding instance to EIP on the Task Center page.
