Application Scenarios
RDS for MySQL supports the automatic storage space scaling of the instance. When the storage space of the instance reaches a certain threshold, the automatic scaling will be initialed without manual operation and confirmation.
Constraints and Restrictions
1. The automatic scaling will not be performed when the instance status is not Running.
2. The instance can be automatically scaled up to 32 TB. (Automatic scaling is not supported if the instance capacity has already reached to upper limit).
3. Your account has a sufficient balance.
4. After scaling up, the instance cannot be scaled down.
5. If an instance has read-only instances with the automatic storage space scaling function when the automatic scaling is triggered, and the storage space of the read-only instance is smaller than the target scaling space of the primary instance, priority will be given to scaling up the storage space of the eligible read-only instances. Once the capacity scaling for all eligible read-only instances is completed, the storage space of the primary instance will be scaled up.
6. Automatic scaling is triggered on any node of the instance upon reaching the predefined threshold.
7. By default, each scaling increases the disk size by 20% of the current disk size (rounded up) until the upper limit of the scaling is reached.
8. The automatic storage space scaling function is disabled by default, which needs to be enabled manually.
Procedure
1.In the upper right corner of the homepage of eSurfing Cloud official website, select Console and log in to the Console interface.
2.In the upper left corner of the Product Overview page of the Console, click Console and select Region.
3.Select Database > Relational database... Go to the MySQL Console.
4.On the Instance Management page, click the name of the target instance, go to the Basic Info page, and click Settings under Automatic Storage Space Scaling in the Configuration Information column.
5.Select Storage Scaling Trigger Threshold and Upper Limit of Automatic Storage Scaling to enable automatic scaling, and click OK to enable automatic Storage Space Scaling.
