Application Scenarios
Before creating backups, it is necessary to first create at least one repository, which is used to store backups. The combination with underlying object storage can further enhance data protection.
Note: You can directly select EVS resources when creating a repository, and back up them immediately or set automatic backups. If no EVS resource is selected, it means that you choose only to create a repository. In this case, the EVS is not backed up. You can then create backups in existing repositories. For specific operations, see Creating an EVS Backup.
Procedure
1. Log in to the Console page.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the Console and select Region.
3. Click to select Storage Console > Volume Backup Service and go to the Volume Backup Service List page.
4. Click the Create Repository button.
5. In the Bind Elastic Volume Service with backup policy section, you can select Configure Now or Configure Later in the Select Elastic Volume Service configuration item.
¡ When Configure Now is selected, you need to check the EVS you want to back up in the disk list and add it to the Checked Disks list on the right.
¡ When Configure Later is selected, you only need to create a repository and do not back up the EVS. Subsequently, you can create backups in existing repositories.
6. When Configure Now is selected, the Backup Configuration section is visible.
In the Backup Configuration section, you can select Automatic Backup or Back up Now.
¡ When Automatic Backup is selected, a periodic backup is performed. In this case, you can bind the checked disk to a backup policy, and the system performs automatic backup based on the backup policy.
¡ When Back up Now is selected, a one-off backup (that is, a manual backup) is performed.
7. In the Repository Configuration section, you can configure parameters such as Repository Name, Repository Capacity, Enterprise Project, and Creation Length.
The specific configuration parameters are presented in the table below:
Parameter | Description |
Region | The Intranets do not interoperate between resources in different regions. Please select a region close to your customer to reduce network latency and increase access speed. |
Payment Method | It supports one payment methods: Annual/Monthly Package. Annual/Monthly Package: This is a prepaid payment method. You are billed before usage, and your bill is settled based on the purchase period of the order. |
