Application Scenarios
You can use backups to create an EVS, which has the backup data in its initial status.
Note: When using backups to create an EVS, there is no limit to the AZ of the new disk. The EVS can be created across AZs. Only in regions with multiple AZs (such as East China 1) can you create an EVS across AZs.
Prerequisites
An Available backup already exists.
Constraints and Restrictions
l Batch creation is not supported.
l By default, the disk type, capacity, disk encryption, and other parameters of the new EVS created by using backups are the same as those of the source EVS and cannot be modified.
Procedure
1. Log in to the Console page.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the Console and select Region.
3. Click Storage Console > Volume Backup Service to go to the Volume Backup Service page.
4. Select the Backup Copy tab to view the existing backup copies.
5. In the row where the backup copy you want to create an EVS, click Operation > Create Disk.
6. Jump to the Create Disk page and configure the parameters for the new EVS.
Note: Because the EVS is created from backups, its disk type, capacity, disk encryption, and other attributes are the same as those of the source EVS, which cannot be modified.
7. Click Next to confirm the configuration. When the configuration is correct, click Buy Now.
After purchase, go to the EVS list. If the new EVS is displayed, it means that the operation is successful. You can attach the EVS to check and verify whether it has the resource VBS backup data.
