Usage Restrictions

Only one backup policy can be added to an EVS.
A backup policy can bind only one repository.
The EVS can be backed up only when its status is Attached or Unattached.
Only EVS in VBD mode can be backed up.
It is not recommended to back up EVS with a capacity greater than 4 TB. It takes a long time to back up EVS with a large capacity, which may not meet your needs for Restoration Point Objective (RPO). In this scenario, it is recommended to use EVS Snapshot or EVS Automatic Snapshot.
VBS only supports the backup and restoration of the EVS as a whole, but cannot restore files or directories in the hard disk.
When using backups to create an EVS, batch creation is not supported.
When using backups to create an EVS, the capacity of the new disk cannot be smaller than that of the original EVS to which the backup data belongs.
When using backups to create an EVS, you can select different AZs. Currently, this is only supported by some resource pools (East China 1, Shanghai 36).
