Product Description

Distributed Cache Service (DCS) Redis Version is a NoSQL in-memory database product compatible with the Redis protocol. It features high performance, high availability, and horizontal scaling and provides a variety of product types to meet the needs of users in high read-write performance scenarios and is used to store persistent data or cached data.

Advantages of eSurfing Cloud DCS Redis

Full compatibility with the Redis protocol: Security reinforced based on the open source Redis protocol, and compatible with the Redis protocol.

Rich instance specifications: Provide a variety of DCS instance specifications to flexibly meet the diversified needs of applications.

A reliable backup and restoration mechanism: Support manual backup and scheduled auto backup and also custom backup policy, restoring existing backup data to DCS instances.

Optimized monitoring and O&M tools: Provide a complete set of logging, monitoring and alarming functions, automatically triggering alarms upon failures and notifying relevant personnel. Various monitoring metrics and server operation conditions can be monitored, managed and maintained in real time.

eSurfing Cloud DCS has the following advantages over the native Redis:

Differences

eSurfing Cloud DCS Redis

Native Redis

Installation and Deployment

Supports real-time activation and one-click upgrades, without the need to care about hardware and software deployment.

Requires time-consuming procurement, deployment, and coordination of hardware, as well as maintenance of the relationships among nodes.

Backup and Restoration

Supports manual backup and scheduled auto backup, and one-click recovery to restore data to the backup time point.

Supports one-time full recovery only.

O&M Management

Provides a visual O&M monitoring platform that supports real-time monitoring of dozens of monitoring metrics.

Requires third-party monitoring tools with complex management configurations to monitor services.

Scalability

Supports linear expansion of node performance and online expansion without interrupting businesses.

Limited concurrency, and upgrades from the community.

Architecture

DCS Redis provides you with flexible instance configuration, and deployment architecture options to facilitate your business operation.

Architecture Types

Description

Stand-Alone

Suitable for cache-only scenarios, such as small-scale applications or development/test environments, with relatively a small number of concurrent access requests and low availability requirements.

Active/Standby

Each active/standby instance runs on two nodes (one active and the other standby). The standby node replicates data synchronously from the active node. If the active node fails, the standby node automatically becomes the active node. The whole process is automatic with impact on the business, which ensures the high availability (HA) of services.

Single-Node Cluster (Proxy)

Each shard is in single-replica mode, suitable for cache-only scenarios with high requirements for data sharding and horizontal scaling. A Redis cluster mode can scale out in terms of data storage and processing capabilities.

Active/Standby Cluster (Proxy)

Each data shard includes an active node and a standby node and supports an active/standby switchover to ensure the HA of services. It is suitable for large-scale applications with high requirements for data sharding and horizontal scaling. A Redis cluster mode can scale out in terms of data storage and processing capabilities, and support HA and load balancing, suitable for high-performance applications with large numbers of concurrent requests.

Single-Node Cluster

Each shard uses a single-replica mode and is compatible with the open-source Redis cluster. It is based on the decentralized cluster deployment architecture and supports the smart client JedisCluster.

Active/Standby Cluster

Each data shard includes an active node and a standby node and supports an active/standby switchover to ensure the HA of services. It is compatible with the open-source Redis Cluster, based on the decentralized cluster deployment architecture and supports the smart client JedisCluster.
