Change the type

2024-05-24 08:39:37

On the Redis console, you can change the type of an instance. For example, you can change a single replica to dual replicas to provide better reliability and stability.

Before You Begin

This operation can be performed only when the DCS Redis instance is in the Running state and the instance type must be stand-alone, single-node cluster, or single-node cluster.

Procedure

1. Log in to the Redis management console.

2. Select the region of the instance in the upper left corner of the management console.

3. On the instance list page, select the row of the instance and click the More > Change Type button to go to the instance expansion page.

4. You can only change instances from stand-alone to active/standby, from single-node cluster to active/standby cluster, and from single-node cluster to active/standby cluster. Therefore, you do not need to select a new instance type on the type change page. Instead, you can directly click the submit button in the lower right corner to submit the order for instance type change.

5. After submitting the order, you will automatically go to the order details management page, where the payment amount will be displayed for you to complete the payment.

6. Click Pay Now to complete the order.

Type Change Notes and Impacts

It takes a few minutes for an instance to perform a type change, during which, the instance will be intermittently disconnected for 30 seconds once or twice.

To ensure that the newly changed instance can quickly catch up with the incremental data of the original instance and avoid dual-writing of data caused by DNS caching, each shard node of the instance will be read-only for 1 minute during the change.

After the change, the instance ID, connection address, data, trustlist configuration, and configuration of the created account and password will remain the same.
