Active/Standby Switchover

2024-05-24 10:41:11

The DCS Redis management console supports manual switchover of the leader and follower nodes of a Redis instance. This operation is used in special scenarios, such as releasing all business connections or terminating business operations currently under execution.

Instructions for Active/Standby Switchover

During the switchover between the active and standby nodes, the business connection will be intermittently disconnected for less than 10 seconds, so please ensure that the application has the ability to rebuild the connection before a switchover.

When performing an active-standby switchover, synchronizing the new active-standby relationship consumes many resources, so please perform the operation during the idle period for your business.

A semi-synchronization mechanism is adopted for the data synchronization between the active and standby nodes, and theoretically no data will be lost.

Before You Begin

This operation can only be performed when the DCS Redis instance is in the Running state.

Procedure

1. Log in to the Redis management console.

2. In the upper left corner of the management console, select the region where the instance is located.

3. On the instance list page, click the target instance name to go to the instance details management page.

4. In the instance node list, click the Redis cluster name to go to the Redis cluster management page.

5. In the main menu on the left side of the Redis cluster management page, select node management and click Batch Active/Standby Switchover button above to perform an active/standby switchover on all nodes. Or select a shard node, click More > Active/Standby Switchover under the Operation column, click OK to perform an active/standby switchover on the node.
