Restarting a Module

2024-05-24 10:43:12

The DCS Redis management console supports manually stopping and starting Redis nodes.

Why Should You Restart a Node?

Configuration updates: When restarting a node, you can apply new configuration parameters, such as adjusting memory limits, modifying persistence policies, enabling or disabling certain features, etc. After restarting the node, these changes will apply.

Fault recovery: When a Redis node fails or has an exception, restarting the node can fix the issue and make Redis available again. This can solve some temporary issues such as memory leakage, network connectivity interruptions, etc.

Performance optimization: Restarting nodes can help optimize Redis performance. For example, reloading data to memory can improve the speed of reading data, or eliminate memory fragmentation caused by long-time operations and improve memory utilization.

Before You Begin

This operation can only be performed when the DCS Redis instance is in the Running state.

Procedure

1. Log in to the Redis management console.

2. In the upper left corner of the management console, select the region where the instance is located.

5. In the main menu, click node management to go to the node management page.

6. Select the node to be restarted and click the Stop button the node from running. Then, click the Start button to complete the restart operation.
