Scenario

If you want to create a physical server that has the exact same operating system and application software as an existing server, you can use the server to create a private image and create a physical server using the private image. This method saves you the time to configure the physical server again and improves the delivery efficiency.

Before You Begin

Create a private image
Register an account, complete the real-name authentication, and have sufficient balance in your account
The object storage service must be available in the resource pool

If you still cannot create a physical server using the private image even when the preceding conditions are met, submit a ticket or call 400-810-9889 for support.

Operation Steps

Log in to eSurfing Cloud and go to the console.
Go to Computing > Physical Server Service and click Buy . The page for buying a physical server is displayed.
Configure your physical server on the Basic Configurations page. For the Region field, we recommend that you select a region as needed or near your applications to reduce network latency and increase the access speed. For the Availability Zone field, we recommend that you select an availability zone to meet your high availability requirement.
You can edit Instance Name and Server Name by following the rules in the table below.

Parameter	Naming Rule
Instance Name	It consists of 2 to 63 characters.
Host Name	The name can contain only 2 to 63 characters, including letters, numbers, and hyphens (-). It cannot start with a number or a hyphen (-) or end with a hyphen (-).

Configure Specification and Local Disk , and select Private Image as Image Type , and then locate the target image from the Image dropdown list.
Click Next: Network Configuration to configure the network settings, including VPC , NIC , Security Group , and EIP .

Parameter	Description
VPC	Networks provided by a VPC include subnets and security groups. You can choose to use an existing VPC or clickCreate in Consoleto create a new VPC.
Security Group	A security group is used for access control of physical servers within and between security groups to enhance the security of physical servers. Users can define various access rules in the security group. After elastic bare metal is added to the security group, they are protected by these access rules. You can edit a security group inManage Security Group. A security group is not supported for a standard bare metal. You must configure iptable in the system.
NIC	One primary NIC is available by default. Users can request quota increases as needed. Currently, you can configure one primary NIC and up to 8 extended NICs for elastic bare metal. A standard bare metal supports one primary NIC and one extended NIC.
Elastic IP (EIP)	Elastic IP binds an Internet IP address to a physical server associated in a routing network so that the physical server in the virtual private cloud can be accessed by external services using a fixed Internet IP address. You can select one of the following three options as needed: Not Use: A physical server cannot communicate with the Internet and can only be used as a physical server for service or cluster deployment on a private network. Auto Assign: Automatically assigns an elastic IP with exclusive bandwidth to each physical server. The optional bandwidth specification ranges from 1 to 300 Mbps. Use Existing: Assign an existing elastic IP to a physical server. If an existing elastic IP is used, you cannot create physical servers in batches.

Then, click Next : Advanced Configuration .
After setting the password, click Next: Confirm Configuration .

Note:

The password must be 8 to 30 digits long and must contain uppercase and lowercase letters and also one number or special character, except for ^.

Confirm the configuration, and check Quantity and Subscription Duration at the bottom of the page, and determine whether to select Auto Renewal and Enterprise Project according to business needs.

Parameter	Description
Subscription Duration	Only the "yearly/monthly subscription" mode is supported for physical servers. The minimum subscription duration is 1 month and the maximum subscription duration is 3 months.
Auto-renewal	Monthly subscription: The duration for auto-renewal is 1 month. Yearly subscription: The duration for auto-renewal is 1 year.
Quantity	The number of physical servers you create cannot exceed the quota. To ensure the proper allocation of all resources, if the number of physical servers you need exceeds the maximum number you can purchase, you must submit a ticket to increase the quota. After your application is approved, you can purchase as many physical servers as you need.
Enterprise Project	Enterprise project is a cloud resource management mode. The enterprise project management service allows you to manage cloud resources by project and by resources and members within each project.

Check I have read and agree to the Agreement and click Buy Now .
The page automatically goes to Order Details . After you click Pay Now and make a payment, the system will automatically activate the physical server for you and the creation is complete.
