Releasing EVS with Instances

2024-12-17 02:24:12

Scenario

You can mount an EVS disk to elastic bare metal. Different EVS processing means are available when you unsubscribe from/delete the elastic bare metal. If Release with Instance is enabled for the EVS, the EVS will be released automatically when the elastic bare metal is released. If Release with Instance is not enabled, unbind the mounted data disk from the elastic bare metal first and retain the data disk.

l   The EVS (system disk or data disk mounted when you create the elastic bare metal) purchased in the same order as the elastic bare metal is released with the instance by default and the setting cannot be modified.

l   The EVS (data disk mounted after the elastic bare metal is created) purchased in a different order from the elastic bare metal will not be released with the instance by default. Release with Instance can be enabled for the EVS as needed.

Restriction and Limitations

·           This function applies to all elastic bare metals to which you can mount EVS.

·           A shared disk cannot be released with instances.

·           You can mount multiple EVS disks to the same elastic bare metal. The setting for release with instance may differ depending on EVS.

·           After the EVS is unmounted from the elastic bare metal, the Release with Instance attribute set for the EVS becomes invalid.

·           When Released with Instance is disabled, the following conditions may also cause the failure to retain the EVS:

Ø  The user does not enable the on-demand permission

Ø  The user does not complete real-name authentication

Ø  The account balance is less than RMB100

·           The retained EVS is normally charged and will generate a bill. Users can check the charge details in the Billing Center.
