Application Scenarios
Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) is a cluster database with a shared cache architecture. The cluster database overcomes the limitations of traditional shared-nothing and shared-disk approaches and provides a highly scalable and available database solution for all your business applications.
The eSurfing Cloud elastic bare metal server features resource isolation at the physical server level and also flexibility of cloud instances. You can use the eSurfing Cloud elastic bare metal server to build a highly available Oracle RAC cluster.
System and Software Version
This topic uses the CentOS7 as an example of the operating system and Oracle RAC software version 19c. Oracle software is a paid product and users must purchase and pay for it by themselves.
RAC, short for real application clusters, is a new technology adopted in a new Oracle database version. It is a kind of high availability and the core technology of an Oracle database to support a grid computing environment. |
Note:
The operations in the Oracle RAC are complicated. This topic only describes how to deploy Oracle RAC on the eSurfing Cloud elastic bare metal. If online data changes are involved, an Oracle database administrator is a must.
