Scenario

A non-shared EVS can be mounted to a cloud server as a data disk if the following conditions are met:

Property	Property Value
Shared disk or not	Not shared (non-shared EVS)
Disk property	Data Disk
Disk status	"Unattached" status

Note:

An EVS that has been initialised and contains data does not need to be initialised again after it is mounted. Initialisation will result in data loss. Therefore, exercise caution with this action.

Restriction and Limitations

A non-shared EVS can be mounted to only one cloud server.
An EVS can only be mounted to cloud servers in the same region and the same availability zone.

Operation Steps

Log in to the console.
Click in the upper left corner of the console and select a region. In this topic, China (Hong Kong 2) is selected.
Click Storage > Elastic Volume Server to go to the EVS home page.
In the Elastic Volume Service List , locate the row that contains the EVS to be attached, in the Operation column, click Attach . The Attach Disk window is displayed.
In the Attach Disk window that appears, select the elastic cloud server to which you want to attach a disk, and click OK . You will be automatically directed to the Elastic Volume Service List.
Note:

The cloud server to which the EVS is attached must reside in the same region and availability zone.
In the Elastic Volume Service List, if the attach status of the EVS changes from Unattached to Attached, the EVS is successfully attached.
