This section introduces the billing items and the billing modes for EVS snapshots.

The EVS snapshots are billed on a postpaid pay-as-you-go basis, and the snapshot storage fee is billed based on the actual capacity used.

Method of Settlement

The billing is supported on a per-second basis and on an hourly basis. If the actual usage duration is less than one hour, the billing should be based on the actual usage duration.

Billing Rule for Snapshot Service

The snapshot service incurs the snapshot fee, and the snapshot fee is charged based on the unit price of snapshots, actual capacity used for snapshots, and billing duration.

Billing formula: Snapshot fee = Unit price of snapshots × actual capacity used for snapshots × billing duration

Unit price of snapshots: The unit prices of snapshots of all specifications are described in the following table.

Note:

The snapshot type is the same as that of the source EVS disk and it is automatically identified when a snapshot is created and billed by type.

The pricing for pay-as-you-go billing of EVS snapshots is described as follows:

Billing Item

Actual Capacity Used for Snapshots

The total capacity used for snapshots on the EVS disk that is counted and billed in GB. The sum of the storage space occupied by all snapshot data blocks on the current EVS disk is used as the billing capacity for snapshots on the current EVS disk. You can query the actual capacity used for snapshots on the EVS disk from the EVS disk details page. For details, see View the Capacity Used for Snapshots.

Billing Duration

The billing duration in seconds, which starts when the first snapshot is successfully created on the EVS disk and ends after the last snapshot is deleted from the EVS disk.

Stop Snapshot Billing

If you no longer use the snapshot service, the snapshot billing stops after snapshots are deleted to optimize the snapshot usage cost.

You can delete snapshots by yourself. For more information, see Delete a Snapshot.
You can also set a snapshot retention period for the system to delete snapshots after the retention period expires. For more information, see Create a Snapshot on the EVS Disk and Modify the Snapshot Retention Period.
When an EVS disk expires and resources are destroyed, all snapshots of the EVS disk are deleted accordingly.
Before unsubscribing from or deleting any EVS disk, you need to delete all snapshots of the EVS disk.

Overdue Payments

If your account is in arrears, the cloud resources in the pay-as-you-go mode will be frozen and enter the retention period due to overdue payment. You will not be able to access and use the cloud resources normally. Within the retention period, the service will be interrupted, but the data stored in the cloud resources will be retained. The cloud resources are still charged in pay-as-you-go mode within the retention period, during which you can Top Up your account. In this case, the system will deduct the amount in arrears first. When you top up your account to settle up overdue bills, the cloud resources are unfrozen and the business resumes normal operation. If you fail to top your account even after the retention period, the cloud resources are released and business data cannot be restored.

Note: The retention period is 15 days.

Effect on Businesses When Cloud Resource is Frozen or Unfrozen and the Retention Period Expires

Cloud resources are frozen: The status of the EVS snapshots changes to "Frozen", the access to EVS snapshot resources is restricted, and the data stored in the EVS snapshots is retained. All the automatic snapshotting policies under the overdue account will no longer create snapshots and will be restricted from being enabled.
Cloud resources are unfrozen: The status of the EVS snapshots is updated, and the access to EVS snapshot resources are unfrozen. All the automatic snapshotting policies under the account with resources unfrozen will normally create snapshots and will be lifted from the enabling restriction. However, you must check whether resources are accessible.
The retention period expires: Both the EVS snapshot resources and the data stored in the EVS snapshots are destroyed.
