Upgrading the Minor Kernel Version

RDS-PostgreSQL allows you to upgrade the minor kernel version of your database instances. With this function, you can upgrade the minor version of your database instances to support additional extensions, enhance performance, address legacy issues, and more.

Precautions

           Upgrading a minor kernel version involves the restarting of your database instance. The database service may be interrupted for some time. Please perform this operation during off-peak hours.

           To ensure data security, it is recommended to make a full backup before upgrading the minor version.

           When upgrading the minor version, please do not perform other operations to prevent potential issues.

Procedure

1.        Log in to the eSurfing Cloud Portal.

2.        Click Console and select the corresponding resource pool, such as East China 1.

3.        Select RDS-PostgreSQL and click it to go to the Console Administration page.

4.        After selecting the specified instance on the List of Instances page, find the Operation column on the right side of the List of Instances, click the More drop-down option, and select Upgrade.

5.        The pop-up box includes the Please select a version option, and click the dropdown box. If there is an upgraded version, select the minor version you want to upgrade, and click OK.

6.        The system will immediately upgrade your database kernel version to the minor kernel version you selected.
