Application Scenarios
If your database instance does not actively close the connection process after the query ends, it may lead to idle connections. An excessive number of idle connections can affect your database instance performance. You can reduce the impact on database performance by terminating idle connections.
Procedure
1. Log in to the eSurfing Cloud Portal.
2. Click Console and select the corresponding resource pool, such as East China 1.
3. Select RDS-PostgreSQL and click it to go to the Console Administration page.
4. On the List of Instances page, select the corresponding instance from the Instance Name/Instance ID, go to the page, and select Instance Operation.
5. On the Instance Operation page, select Check and Terminate Idle Connection for the operation type. In the pull-down box of the database, select the corresponding type. Enter the database user name you want to terminate in Users to Be Terminated and fill in the required time in Time Threshold. The default unit is seconds. After confirming the above information, click the Execute button.
6. After waiting for the system to check and terminate the idle connections, the corresponding Operation Results and Information prompts will appear.
