RDS PostgreSQL

Binding and Unbinding EIP

2025-06-17 08:01:43

After an RDS-PostgreSQL instance is purchased, you can bind EIP and access database instances on the public network. After that, you can unbind the instance as needed.

Precautions

To access a database, you need to set the security group and add the IP address and port to the security group rule. For details, see Adding Security Group Rules.

An elastic IP can only bind one instance. Similarly, an instance is only allowed to bind one elastic IP. For an instance with an existing elastic IP, it needs to be unbound before re-binding other elastic IPs. For details on the elastic IP ordering guide, see Applying for Elastic IP.

Only some resource pools support this feature.

Binding the Elastic IP

1.           Log in to the eSurfing Cloud official website.

2.           Go to the Console.

3.           Select the resource pool region in the upper left corner. For details of resource pools supported by RDS-PostgreSQL, see Function Loading Description.

4.           Find RDS-PostgreSQL and click it to go to the Console page.

5.           Select the specified instance in the List of Instances and click to go to the Instance Details page.

6.           Find the Network section in Instance Details and select Bind in the Elastic IP item.

7.           In the pop-up box, you can select to bind the elastic IP whose status is unbound, click Yes, and submit the binding task. If no Elastic IP is available, you can apply for an elastic IP or unbind the bound elastic IP to obtain an available Elastic IP.

8.           After the binding is successful, you can see the bound elastic IP on the Instance Details page.

Unbinding the Elastic IP
