RDS PostgreSQL

Instance Storage Type

2025-06-17 03:38:35

As the most important basic component of the application system, the database requires frequent disk read and write operations, thus having high requirements for storage IO performance. eSurfing Cloud provides various types of storage IOs to meet different performance requirements. You can choose a desired storage type according to your needs. Currently, RDS-PostgreSQL does not support changing the storage type after creating an instance.

Storage Type Description

RDS-PostgreSQL supports three storage types: high IO, ultra-high IO, and general-purpose SSD. All of them are EVS storage and support elastic expansion, which can meet different business scenarios, as follows:

High IO: Suitable for mainstream high-performance and high-reliability application scenarios, such as large-scale development tests, Web server logging, and enterprise applications. Typical enterprise applications include SAP, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SharePoint.

Ultra-high IO: Suitable for read-write intensive application scenarios with ultra-high IOPS and ultra-large bandwidth requirements, such as high-performance computing and NoSQL/relational databases.

Universal SSD: Suitable for enterprise-level office scenarios with high throughput and low latency.
