RDS-PostgreSQL supports a variety of backup recovery policies, providing multiple fault restoration capabilities for your database instance.

RDS-PostgreSQL automatically creates a backup of the database instance based on a user-defined backup policy. The instance saves the automatic backup data of the database instance based on the backup period, backup start time, and backup retention period (1 to 180 days) that you specify. RDS-PostgreSQL provides a variety of ways to restore instance data to meet different usage scenarios:

Restore an instance by backing up files.

Restore an instance to a specified time point.

Multiple Availability Zones

Availability Region (AZ) refers to the physical area in which the power and network are independent of each other within the same region. Intranet interoperability is available across AZs and different AZs are physically isolated. With RDS-PostgreSQL, you can deploy the master and standby nodes of primary/standby instances in the same AZ or multiple AZs to ensure failover capability and high availability.
