Zero Service Downtime
eSurfing Cloud DTS provides zero downtime migration and synchronization, which is a real-time online logical processing process. During the entire process, the application system can provide services without downtime. If the volume of the raw data is large, you can choose an appropriate network bandwidth so that the data can be rapidly migrated from the source database to the destination database.
If the previous and new databases are heterogeneous, eSurfing Cloud DTS transforms and maps data objects at the bottom layer while working, which is completely transparent to users and simplifies its usage.
High Performance
DTS transmits data efficiently through data merging, parallel playback, data compression, and other technologies, which is superior to the native replication feature that comes with databases.
Data merging: After the merge algorithm is executed, a single primary key only has one record, reducing data volume and improving the efficiency of parallel playback. For example, an INSERT operation and an UPDATE operation are merged into an INSERT operation, and an UPDATE operation and a DELETE operation are merged in to a DELETE operation.
Parallel playback: DTS accelerates data imports to databases through parallel playback.
Data compression: DTS reduces the data transmission latency by compressing data. This feature is adaptive to narrow bandwidth networks across data centers.
High Stability and Reliability
High availability (HA): eSurfing Cloud DTS uses the Paxos algorithm within a cluster. If a worker node fails, the tasks running on the faulty node are automatically switched to a healthy node. This process does not interrupt your business. During the public preview, only single-node clusters are available.
Resumable transfer: When the eSurfing Cloud DTS component, data source, or network recovers upon a failure, DTS resumes the data transfer by continuing the tasks such as data migration and synchronization.
Data Integrity
eSurfing Cloud DTS provides the data audit feature to ensure data consistency and integrity.
Object comparison: Supports quantitative comparison of tables, views, functions, and stored procedures between the source and destination databases.
Data comparison: Compares the number of rows or content in the source and destination tables based on checksum values.
