1.Log in to the eSurfing Cloud console, go to the DSS management console -> Management Center -> Instance Management, and click Create Instance.
2.Select basic configuration: Select the billing type, version, instance type, and availability zone of the DDS product according to your business needs.
The main order parameters are described as follows:
Parameter | Description |
Billing Mode | Annual/monthly subscription: After purchasing the service configuration, the user can set the required duration as needed. The system will deduct the required charge from the account balance according to the purchase price at one go. Pay-as-you-go: After purchasing the service configuration, the user do not have to set the required duration. The system will deduct the required charge from the account balance according to actual usage. |
Region | Specifies the region where resources reside. |
Database Version | Select 4.0 or 3.4. |
Instance Type | Select an instance type according to your business needs. For example, select Cluster Version. Instances of cluster type include mongos, shard, and config nodes. Of them, both shard and config nodes use the three-node replica set architecture to guarantee high availability. |
Availability Zone | An availability zone refers to a physical zone where power and network are isolated in the same region. The networks within an availability zone are interconnected and different availability zones are physically isolated. Currently, an instance can be deployed in a single availability zone or three availability zones. If your business requires low network latency between instances, we recommend that you select a single availability zone and deploy the add-ons of the instance in the same availability zone. For high disaster recovery capability, we recommend that you select three availability zones. In this case, the mongos, shard, and config nodes in the instance are deployed in three different availability zones. |
3.Select instance specifications: Select the performance type, CPU/ memory specifications, number of Mongos and Shard nodes, storage type, and storage space.
4.Enter cluster configuration: Set the instance name, administrator account, and administrator password of DDS.
Note:
When ordering an instance, you must enter the administrator password of the database (or set the password after creation. A random password is generated during creation). The database account has the root permission. The account name is root by default and cannot be changed.
The administrator password must meet the following conditions:
The password must be 8 to 26 characters long.
The password must contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (~!@#$%^*_-+{[]}:,.?/).
5.Configure the network and select the appropriate virtual private cloud (VPC), subnet, and security group.
The following describes the network parameters:
Parameter | Description |
VPC | The virtual private network where the DDS instance resides can make different services isolated, for easy management and configuration of the internal network, allowing quickly and securely changing the network. |
Subnet | The system provides dedicated network resources that are isolated by network based on a subnet to increase network security. |
Security Group | A security group limits secure access rules and strengthens access security between DDS and other services. |
6.Set purchase quantity: Used to set required duration, purchase Quantity, and auto renewal.
7.Agree to the product agreement, click Next and follow the instructions to create an instance order. After a few minutes, you will see the instance that is ordered successfully in the tenant console.
