Before using CDN to accelerate a domain name, you must add a CNAME record for DNS resolution to map the domain name to a CNAME offered by eSurfing Cloud. By doing so, requests to the domain name can be redirected to CDN points of presence (POPs) for acceleration. Otherwise, CDN acceleration cannot take effect.

In the eSurfing Cloud CDN console, go to Domain Management > Domain List , and copy the CNAME of the target domain name.
Go to the control center of your DNS service provider (such as Alibaba Cloud DNS, DNSPod, Xinnet DNS, Tencent Cloud Private DNS, Route 53, and GoDaddy), and add the CNAME record.
Check whether CDN acceleration takes effect. The effective time of the CNAME record varies based on DNS service providers. Typically, a newly added CNAME record takes effect immediately, and an updated CNAME record takes a longer time to take effect. You can run the ping or dig command for verification. If the CNAME in the output points to .ctdns.cn, it means that the CNAME record and CDN acceleration take effect.

Note:

Effective time of CNAME records: A newly added CNAME record takes effect immediately. The effective time of an updated CNAME record depends on the time-to-live (TTL) set by users. If a conflict occurs when you add a CNAME record, consider changing the accelerated domain name or changing the record based on the following rules in the table.

If a conflict is prompted, it means the corresponding record already exists (duplicate records are not allowed) or the corresponding record cannot be added.

Certain types of DNS records that have the same RR value and resolution line cannot be used at the same time.

• X: The two types of DNS records that have the same RR value and resolution line cannot be used at the same time. For example, if an A record is configured for www.example.com, you cannot configure a CNAME record for www.example.com.

• No limit: The two types of DNS records that have the same RR value and resolution line can be used at the same time. For example, if an A record is configured for www.example.com, you can configure an MX record for www.example.com.

• Repeatable: Multiple DNS records that are of the same type and have the same RR value and resolution line can be configured. For example, if an A record is configured for www.example.com, you can configure another A record for www.example.com.
