Background Information

After you add a domain name in the CDN console, to avoid any service impact due to wrong configurations, you are recommended to perform some tests to verify everything works as expected. If the test results are all good, configure you DNS resolution settings to ramp up traffic to eSurfing Cloud CDN as you need.

Procedures

In the eSurfing Cloud CDN console, go to Domain Management > Domain List , and copy the CNAME of the target domain name.
Obtain the IP address of the CNAME and use this IP address of an eSurfing Cloud CDN POP to test relevant features. To obtain the IP address of the CNAME, run the ping command for Windows, such as ping *.ctdns.cn. For macOS, run the dig command.
Change the local hosts file in your computer to add a record in the format of "source server IP address accelerated domain name". Then, when your computer accesses the accelerated domain name, it is forcibly resolved and redirected to the IP address of the CDN POP. This allows you to verify relevant features in specific business scenarios by using the local computer.
Verify relevant features:

After you add the IP address and domain name to the hosts file, you can open the browser and access the accelerated domain name from the local computer to test the connectivity. You can view the test result by using the developer tools (F12) of the browser. If the IP address accessed by the browser is the same as the one that you add to the hosts file, it means the configuration in the hosts file is valid.
After you successfully access the IP address associated with the accelerated domain name from the local computer, you can proceed to verify relevant features. To do so, use your own URL test cases or necessary verification steps. For example, access a given URL in the browser to obtain the corresponding file from the origin server, and check whether the returned status code is 200. Generally, for the first access request, if the CDN POP can redirect the request to the origin server and obtain the file as expected, the status code 200 is returned to the client.
