Introduction

Premium Network Service (PNS) is an advanced value-added service of CDN acceleration products that can help to achieve cross-border acceleration with low latency, low packet loss rate, and high stability when the public international network cannot meet cross-border transmission needs.

Applicable Scenarios

Premium Network Service works for the three scenarios below:

Scenario 1 : Non-Chinese enterprises, with globally distributed end users inside and outside Chinese mainland, who doesn't have any entities in Chinese mainland and couldn't get ICP license (For the rules of domain name qualification, please refer to: Qualification conditions section of Restrictions). The end users inside Chinese mainland will be served by near China nodes (e.g. Hong Kong nodes). Without Premium Network Service, the cross-border traffic goes through international public network and will be routed to Europe or America regions usually, thus cause latency, high packet loss rate, poor experience or even request fail.
Scenario 2 : Non-Chinese enterprises, with globally distributed end users inside and outside Chinese mainland, who have entities in Chinese mainland and have got ICP licence. However, the origin is located outside Chinese mainland, so the traffic from CDN edge nodes in Chinese mainland to mid-tier nodes or origins outside Chinese mainland will go through international public network. Without Premium Network Service, the cross-border traffic goes through international public network and will be routed to Europe or America regions usually, thus cause latency, high packet loss rate, poor experience or even request fail.
Scenario 3 : Chinese enterprises developing oversea business, the origins are located inside Chinese mainland and the end users are from the rest of the world. Without Premium Network Service, the cross-border traffic from edge nodes to origins inside Chinese mainland goes through international public network, thus cause latency, high packet loss rate, poor experience or even request fail.

Additional Considerations

Please ensure that you have enabled Global(excluding Chinese mainland) acceleration region before you try to enable Premium Network Service. For details, please refer to: Provisioning of Premium Network Service
