Feature Overview

Origin request protocol specifies the protocol that eSurfing Cloud CDN uses to retrieve contents from origin servers. eSurfing Cloud CDN supports three kinds of settings: HTTP, HTTPS, and following the protocol of the client request.

The following table describes the three options that you can specify in the CDN console.

Option	Description
HTTP	CDN communicates with the origin server over the HTTP protocol regardless of whether the client sends a request over HTTP or HTTPS.
HTTPS	CDN communicates with the origin server over the HTTPS protocol regardless of whether the client sends a request over HTTP or HTTPS.
Follow client	CDN communicates with the origin over HTTP or HTTPS, depending on the protocol of the client request. Note: The origin protocol policy protects data from tampering and eavesdropping during transmission. If you want to transmit sensitive data such as user identity data over HTTPS and other data such as image files over HTTP, we recommend that you set Origin Protocol Policy to Follow client.

Procedure

Log in to the CDN console.
Go to Domain Management -> Domain List page.
On the Domain List page, find the target domain name, and click Edit in the Actions column.
Click Back-to-origin .
In the Origin Protocol Policy field, select an origin protocol policy, and click Submit .
