Feature Overview

HTTP/2 is also known as HTTP 2.0. Compare with HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2 provides more features, such as multiplexing, HTTP header compression, request priority classification, and server push. HTTP/2 is compatible with the HTTP/1.1 semantics and resolves issues that occur on HTTP/1.1. The protocol performance is also optimized.

HTTP/2 provides the following benefits:

HTTP/2 transmits data in binary format, while HTTP/1.1 transmits data in text format. The binary format provides more benefits on protocol parsing, optimization, and extension.
HTTP/2 uses HPACK header compression to reduce traffic that is required to transmit headers, while each HTTP/1.1 request includes a large size of redundant header data, causing bandwidth waste. Header compression can effectively resolve bandwidth waste issues.
Multiplexing means that in HTTP/2, you can use a TCP connection to send multiple requests. Although you can use a pipeline to send concurrent requests in HTTP/1.1, request handling may be blocked. This is why pipelines are not commonly used. HTTP/2 implements real concurrent request handling and also supports request priorities and request throttling.
Servers actively push data to clients. For example, a server can push JavaScript files and CSS files to a client without requests sent from the client after the client parses the corresponding HTML file.

Procedure

Log in to the CDN console.
Go to Domain Management -> Domain List.
On the Domain List page, find the target domain name, and click Edit in the Actions column.
Click HTTPS .
Turn on the HTTPS switch.
Select a valid HTTPS certificate that is bound to the domain name.
Enable HTTP/2 and Click Save and Submit.
