Scenario

This topic describes how to upload local files directly to designated locations in Zettabyte Object Storage (ZOS). Supported file formats include text, images, and videos.

Restriction and Limitations

• File names are case-sensitive.

• The name length ranges from 1 to 1023 bytes.

• The file name cannot contain slashes (/) or backslashes (), except when files are uploaded within a folder.

• When files with identical names are uploaded to the same bucket and versioning is disabled, the newly uploaded file replaces the existing one. With versioning enabled, the newly uploaded file becomes a distinct version rather than replacing the prior one. The bucket retains multiple versions of files sharing the same name.

• You can upload up to 100 files, each with a capacity limit of 5 GB, all at once.

• You can upload files to the current directory or to a specified directory.

• You can choose to inherit the read/write permissions of the bucket, which can be set as private, public read, or public read/write.

Operation Steps

On the homepage of the official eSurfing Cloud website, click Console, and enter your username and password to log in to the console.
In the upper part of the console, click and select a region. In this example, Asia Pacific-China (Hong Kong 2) is selected.
Choose Storage > Zettabyte Object Storage.
Click the bucket name to open the overview page.
Select File Management, and then click Upload Files.
Configure the parameters, and then select or drag the local files that you want to upload to the specified location.

Parameter	Description
Upload Directory Location	Specifies the location to which files are uploaded. Valid values include Current Directory and Specified directory.
Read-Write Permission	Inherit Bucket: The read/write permissions of the uploaded files are consistent with those of the bucket. Private: Only the object owner and authorized users can read and write the file data. Public read: All users with public read permissions can read the file data. This configuration is not recommended for your data security. Public read/write: All users with public read/write permissions can read and write the file data. This configuration is not recommended for your data security.
Limits on File Size	You can upload up to 100 files, each with a capacity limit of 5 GB, all at once.

The file name cannot contain slashes (/) or backslashes (), except when files are uploaded within a folder. When uploading a file, if the file name matches an existing one, the newly uploaded file will overwrite the old one.

Click Confirm to complete the uploading.
