Scenario

Creating buckets is an important operation in ZOS, providing containers to organize and manage objects. To store data, you need to create a bucket.

Operation Steps

On the homepage of the official eSurfing Cloud website, click Console , and enter your username and password to log in to the console.
In the upper part of the console, click and select a region. In this example, Asia Pacific-China (Hong Kong 2) is selected.
Choose Storage > Zettabyte Object Storage .
Click Create Bucket in the ZOS console.
Configure the basic parameters to specify the region, bucket name, enterprise project, and read/write permissions.
Click Next for advanced settings. These include options for data redundancy policy, storage type, server-side encryption, and compliance retention.

Parameter	Description
Region	Specifies the region where the bucket resides. Once configured, the region cannot be changed.
Bucket Name	A bucket name must comply with the following rules: Must not duplicate any existing bucket name. Cannot be changed once created. Must be 3 to 63 characters in length and can contain lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). Cannot start or end with a hyphen (-).
Storage Type	Specifies the storage type for the bucket. Valid values include Standard storage, Infrequent Access (IA) storage, and Archive storage. IA storage or Archive storage is not supported in some resource pools.
Read-Write Permission	Bucket read/write permission control. Private: Only the bucket owner and authorized users can read and write data in the bucket. Public read: All users with public read/write permissions can read and write data in the bucket. However, this configuration is not recommended for your data security.
Data Redundancy Policy	Single-AZ Storage: Data is stored in a single AZ. This data redundancy policy applies to all three storage types. Multi-AZ storage: Data is stored in multiple AZs within the same region, providing higher availability. This data redundancy policy incurs more fees. It applies to only Standard storage and IA storage. Determine the data redundancy policy in advance based on your service needs. Once the bucket is created, this policy cannot be changed.
Enterprise Project	This is a cloud resource management mode that handles unified cloud resources as a project. When selecting a project for the bucket, you associate the bucket with the project. In the dropdown list for this parameter, all created projects are displayed. If you have not created any project, the default project is displayed and used by default. Compliance-based Retention	This feature enables you to store and utilize data under the condition that you cannot delete or modify it.
Whether to Edit Bucket Labels	Specifies whether to configure a label for the bucket, which marks the purpose of the bucket to facilitate classified management.

A bucket name must be globally unique. It cannot be replicated with any other bucket, even those created by other users, within any cluster.

After configuring the parameters, click Next . Review the configuration, and then click Confirm to complete the bucket creation.
