Background Information

ZOS does not directly use the concept of files or file folders as found in a traditional file system. However, to facilitate data management, ZOS provides a simulated file folder structure. You can append a slash (/) to the file name, and then the file will be displayed in the form of a file folder in the ZOS console or ZOSBrowser. When utilizing the SDK or API to list files, file names are categorized based on the presence of a slash (/). If the last slash (/) is not followed by content, this path indicates a file folder. The performance of file access is unaffected, regardless of the depth of the file folder structure. This design enables flexible and efficient data organization and management within ZOS.
