Enable/Disable Instance Protection

If the billing mode of the server you purchased is Pay-As-You-Go. So you can enable the delete protection feature for your servers, especially for those hosting business-critical applications or data. By using this feature, you can avoid the servers being deleted by mistake due to improper operation. This feature will limit from two dimensions: eSurfing Cloud Console and OpenAPI, as described below.

Prerequisites

Purchase a cloud server with pay-as-you-go billing mode

Cautions

Previously, the delete protection feature will not take effect.

· When the user account is in arrears and the retention period has expired, the resources will be destroyed;

· Servers that have been added to autoscaling are not affected by this feature; it does not affect the autoscaling logic either;

· Servers with instance delete protection enabled switching from Pay-as-you-go to Subscription-based, the feature will fail.

To enable/disable the delete protection feature

1. Click the cloud server console to enter the cloud server list page.

2. Click [Action] - [More] - [Enable Delete Protection] / [Disable Delete Protection].

Note: The instance defaults to not having the delete protection feature enabled.

3. Click OK to enable/disable the delete instance protection feature.

After the instance delete protection feature is enabled, the instance delete feature will not work.

To query the delete protection feature

1. Click the cloud server console to enter the cloud server list page.

2. Click the name of the target cloud server to enter the details page of the cloud server.

3. Check the field Instance Delete Protection on the details page to display the current instance status of enabled/disabled.
