When using PI7/P2V/P2VS/PI2 computing accelerated GPU cloud servers for graphics and image processing, you can choose to pre-install a paid image with GRID driver. If the existing image cannot meet your needs, you can apply for a license from NVIDIA or its agent, configure the license server, and install the GRID driver.
I. Apply for License
1. Open https://enterpriseproductregistration.nvidia.com/?LicType=EVAL&ProductFamily=vGPU, register an account and apply for the license.
2. After approval, you will be notified by email, and you can log in with this account.
3. Open https://nvid.nvidia.com, enter the account and password, and enter the Dashboard page, as shown below:
II. Software Downloads
1. Select SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS in the left navigation bar to enter the Software Downloads page.
Choose the latest NVIDIA Virtual GPU SoftWare version, using GRID 11.13 as an example in this section. As shown in the figure below:
2. Create a regular cloud server as the license server, with a minimum specification of 4 cores, 8G memory, and 50G hard disk.
Select Non-Driver-downloads on the right side of the page and click the License Server software you want to download. This section takes downloading 2023.04 Legacy License Server (Flexera) 2023.04 for Windows as an example, as shown in the figure below:
3. Install the License Server software to the cloud server created in step 2. For details, see https://docs.nvidia.com/grid/ls/2023.04/grid-license-server-user-guide/index.html. Obtain the MAC address of the license server after the installation is complete.
4. Select LICENSE SERVERS in the left navigation bar to enter the License Servers page. Fill in the relevant information in the Create License Server pop-up window to register a new License Server. For MAC Address, enter the MAC address of the license server obtained in Step 3.
5. Select the corresponding license and quantity in Select Feature.
6. After the license server is successfully added, you can view the status of the authorized license server on the License Servers page, including the number and license expiration time,.
7. Select Action -> Download to download the license file for the License Server.
III. Configure License Server
1. Use the license server to access the license management console: http://localhost:8080/licserver.
2. Select License Management in the License Server column on the left and import the license file.
3. Select Licensed Feature Usage to view the number of licenses. As shown in the figure below:
IV. Install GRID Driver
1. Taking the Windows operating system as an example, purchase and create a computing accelerated GPU cloud server.
2. Install the GRID Driver installer, that is, install the NVIDIA vGPU for Windows driver. Open the installation program, follow the prompts to complete the installation, as shown in the figure below:
3. Restart the GPU cloud server.
4. After restart, right-click on the desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel, select License -> Manage License, fill in the corresponding server IP and port, configure the IP address and port number of the license server, make sure that the IP address of the license server can be accessed, and the port number is set to open. When you're done, click Apply and then restart the GPU cloud server.
5. After completing the above configuration, the GPU cloud server can run the graphics and image processing program.
