Scenario
CBS provides ready-to-use backup services to make your data more secure and reliable. For example, when a cloud server or disk fails or data is mistakenly deleted due to human error, data can be quickly restored on its own. This section describes how to back up cloud servers and EVSs.
Tips for Use
Currently, ECS backup can be achieved through the Cloud Server Backup Service and Volume Backup Service functions:
· Cloud Server Backup Service (recommended): If backing up all EVSs (system disks and data disks) in the Elastic Cloud Server, it is recommended to use the Cloud Server Backup Service function, while backing up all EVSs to avoid data inconsistency caused by backup creation time differences.
· Volume Backup Service: If backing up a specified single or multiple EVSs (system disks or data disks), it is recommended to use the Volume Backup Service function to ensure data security while reducing backup costs.
Cloud Server Backup Service Procedure
1. Log in to the console.
2. Click at the top of Control Center and select Region.
3. Click Product and Service List in the left navigation bar and select Storage > Cloud Server Backup Service.
4. Click Create Repository in the upper right corner to bind the cloud server and backup policy.
· If the cloud server is already bound to the repository, follow the prompts to configure the backup information.
· If the cloud server is not bound to the repository, please purchase the repository first and configure the backup information.
1. Click Next. The system will automatically create a backup for the cloud server.
When the Backup Status of the generated backup in the Backup Replica tab is Available, it indicates that the backup task is successfully executed.
In order to ensure data integrity, it is recommended to restart after the backup is completed.
Note
After the backup is successful, you can use Cloud Server Backup Service to restore server data or create image. For details, see Using Cloud Server Backup Service to Restore Data and Using Backup to Create Image.
Follow-up Notes

1. Click Next. The system will automatically create a backup for the EVS.
When the Backup Status of the generated backup in the Backup Replica tab is Available, it indicates that the backup task is successfully executed.
If data on the disk is deleted during the backup process, the deleted files may not be backed up successfully. To ensure data integrity, it is recommended to operate on the data after the backup is complete.
Note
After the backup is successful, you can use the Volume Backup Service to restore disk data.
