Password

Password refers to using the initial password as the authentication method for cloud server. At this point, you can log in to the cloud server using username and password, that is, use root user and initial password for Linux OS and use administrator user and initial password for Windows OS.

Scenarios

The password is used in the ECS system to protect the customer's important private information, and it is recommended to keep the password properly to ensure the security of the account. In the process of using ECS service, you will encounter password-related settings in the following scenarios:

· Set password when creating an ECS.
If the user chooses Password as the login method when purchasing the ECS for advanced configuration, you can click Create Now to create a password. For details, see Creating an Elastic Cloud Server.

· Reset the login password of the ECS.
If the user forgets the password or the password has expired, it can be reset via Reset Password. For details, see Resetting the ECS Password in the Console.
